General

Shall offer factory-based assistance including

Panel Frame
  • Panel frames shall be a minimum of 14 gauge, roll formed, cold rolled steel with powder coated paint finish.
  • Frame uprights shall directly support components through full height at one- (1) inch increments. Straight line, panel-topanel connectors shall be included.
  • Frames shall allow for non-progressive panel removal or replacement.
  • Panel heights shall be a range of 42" high to 83" high
    • 42” Traditional Reception height
    • 48” Nominal seated visual privacy
    • 56” Full seated visual privacy
    • 65” Traditional standing visual privacy
    • 83” Semi-private office height
  • Widths shall vary from 18" wide to 60" wide, in traditional architectural 6” modularity, except 54”w: 18”, 24”, 30”, 36”, 42”, 48” and 60”.
  • Frames 60” wide shall include center vertical with slots to accommodate 30”w segments for greater flexibility in segment application.
  • Stack-on panel frames shall be available in all panel widths. Frames shall incorporate a gravity lock keyhole slot for segment attachment.
    • Stack-on panel frames must be made of the same material as the base panel frame and must be able to be attached to top of any base panel frame without disassembly or removal of base panel frame.
    • Stack-on panel frames must be capable of supporting all overhead storage components.
    • Stack-on panel frames must be capable of stacking to an 8'-6"ceiling using standard stack-on modules. For ceiling heights other than 8'-6" high, custom stack-on modules must be available for up to a ten-foot (10’) ceiling height.
    • A ceiling channel, including light and sound seal, must be available for attachment to standard C-60 drop-ceiling grid.
  • Frames shall have the capacity to carry a minimum of one hundred and fifty (150) Category 5 data cables, for delivering data and voice service jacks to each workstation, and the ability to lay-in all cabling.
  • Frames shall offer dedicated power and dedicated telecommunications cable pathways.
  • Space within the panel frame shall be available for cable service loops to support future relocation efforts.
  • Panels must offer ability to channel and distribute power and/or voice/data cabling at the top, middle (above or below the work surface) and bottom of each panel with a minimum of six (6) inches of separation between power and data at all times.
  • Each panel frame shall also have two vertical chases for cable distribution, preventing any power and cable runs that are parallel to be closer than six inches and enabling for any crossovers between power and data to be perpendicular to each other. The cable pathways must allow a minimum 4" bend radius for fiber optic cabling and be TIA/EIA 568-A and 569-A compliant.
  • The panel frames shall provide for an internal multi-user telecommunications junction, or consolidation point. This shall allow for an interconnection in the horizontal cabling between the work area outlet and the telecommunications closet.
    This consolidation point must be TIA/EIA TSB-75 (Technical Services Bulletin) compliant.
    • The interconnection shall provide for "plug and play" capability to save time and cost of installation and subsequent office reconfigurations
    • All modular cables should be factory pre-wired and tested
    • Connectors shall be a minimum of CAT 5e. CAT 6 level connectors shall also be available: The consolidation point must also support various media including UTP, ScTP, Coax and Fiber
  • Adjustable leveling glides shall be a minimum three (3”) inches in length.
Panel Segments
  • The panel segments shall be class A rated, have an estimated STC (Sound Transmission Coefficient) of 35, and an NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) of 0.55 for non-accoustic tiles and 0.70 for accoustic tiles.
  • Panel segments shall be easily removable, without tools, for access to cable pathways and interconnects.
  • Panel segments shall allow for non-progressive segment removal or replacement.
  • Panel segments shall be easy to reupholster.
  • Panel segments shall include a variety of choices including:
    • Tackable/Acoustic
    • Power/Telecommunication
    • Airflow
    • Woodgrain
    • Glazed: Clear and Frosted tempered glass, 5mm thick
    • Painted
    • Marker (dry erase) board.
    • Accessory/Tool Rail
  • All panel segments shall have a Class A fire rating.
  • Tackable segments shall have a minimum of ½” thick compressed fiberglass.
  • Painted segments shall have a powder coated finish for maximum durability.
  • Panel segments shall provide an effective RF barrier for internal cabling.
  • Power/Telecommunication segments must contain knockouts for both power and telecommunication outlets.
  • Shall include a broad array of fabric selections and price grade levels (Genesis includes eighty (80) patterns in five (5) grade/price levels).
  • Shall offer a single, monolithic panel segment for panels up to traditional standing-height visual privacy (~65”h).
Panel Trim
  • Panel top and end trim to be integrally colored with full-length grip edge and reinforced gusseting to prevent warping. Shall also have easily removable end caps that feature positive tongue-to-groove attachment to be field-trimmable.
  • Wood grain panel trim should also be available.
Connector
  • Panel connectors shall be minimum 10 gauge steel with a minimum of 20 gauge connector cover.
  • Connectors shall have a powder coated paint finish and include hardware.
  • Connectors shall be structurally universal; trim covers may be dedicated.
  • Shall be self-aligning for precise alignment of top caps, tile segments, work surfaces and overhead storage storage units.
  • Connector top caps shall be integrally colored and be universal, allowing for 2-way, 3-way or 4-way connections.
  • Shall also allow for the following mounting conditions
    • Wall-mounting of components with wall strips
    • Attaching panel end to wall (Wall Starter kit).
    • Attaching panel end perpendicular to another panel (t-mount kit)
Work Surfaces
  • Work surfaces shall be greater than 1" thick, 3-ply/balanced ply construction consisting of: horizontal-grade high pressure laminate on solid core, 45 Ib. industrial grade particle board with phenolic backer.
  • Shall offer at least two edge options:
    • 3mm matching color-through PVC edge on all four sides (1.0625” thick)
    • Waterfall comfort edge across front edges, self-edge back and ends (1.25” thick)
  • Shall use offer value option laminate finishes without minimum quantities.
  • Shall offer rectilinear and curvilinear shape option.
  • Shall include expanded vocabulary of surface shapes, including

  • Shall include at no additional cost, self-storing wire access scallops as follows, minimum:
    • One per work surface, 24”w -- 48”w
    • Two per work surface, 60”w and longer
  • Shall be equipped with steel threaded inserts for positive attachment to floor-supported or hanging pedestals.
Overhead Storage
  • Overhead storage shall have reinforced bottom shelf, and top for flipper door units.
  • Units shall have an anti-dislodgement device .
  • Units shall be powder coated for maximum scratch and abrasion resistance.
  • Door shall move on steel ball-bearing slides over the top to provide
    • Smooth operation and long-life durability with ease of operation
    • Safety from objects placed on top which could overload the unit, be unsightly, or pose a danger if dislodged from top of the unit.
    • Greater interior clearance
  • nterior height shall be no less than 13" to accommodate domestic and international (A4) formats.
  • Shall have pivoting hinges to minimize opening radius for operation in space-restricted applications.
  • Recessed bottom shelf to conceal task light and to maximize clearance between work surface for office equipment on work surface.

  • Full-depth pedestals shall be capable of panel or freestanding applications and provide work surface-to-floor support without the need for cosmetic filler panels or end panels.
  • All pedestals shall have
    • Flush-mounted drawer fronts with full width recessed pulls
    • Drawers shall be five-sided construction
    • Four (4) leveling glides
    • Drawers shall be constructed using 16 gauge (fronts) and 20 gauge (case) steel
    • All box and file drawers shall have full extension steel ball bearing slides
    • 30" deep file drawers shall accommodate two (2) rows of letter-sized files side-by-side
  • All storage components shall have a powder coat finish.
  • Lateral files shall incorporate a positive interlock system, allowing only one drawer to be opened at a time.
  • File drawers shall have integral hanging folder lip and support to hold letter, legal and A-4 size paper.
  • Shall include removable pencil tray for box drawers.
  • Shall have available optional box drawer divider.
  • Core removable locks shall be standard for all storage components.
  • Keyed-alike option shall be available as well as a ‘master’ key.
